What
The Lost Girls is an idea that's become a book, then a stageplay, and now a movement, written in poetry slam-style character monologue and designed to be performed by junior high and high school students across the nation...and the world!
Why
Results from the CDC's 2021 Youth Risk Behavior Survey show startling trends. Nearly 3 in 5 teen girls (57%) said they felt "persistently sad or hopeless." That's the highest rate in a decade. And 30% said they have seriously considered dying by suicide — a percentage that's risen by nearly 60% over the past 10 years.(Feb 13, 2023.) The Lost Girls addresses the isolation created by social media and offers our youth a way back to genuine connections and healthy self-value.
How
The Lost Girls is a raw, emotional journey into the hearts and minds of seven teenagers as they grapple with the challenges of surviving modern adolescence. In our fractured world, where social media has made us more isolated than bringing us together, The Lost Girls Movement maps out a path back to real human connection, not just for our youth, but for us all.
When & Where
The Lost Girls will be officially launched on May 1st, 2025, and will be performed on stage for the very first time that month in Pine Mountain Club, CA. Following this opening night performance, we will be taking The Lost Girls on the road to introduce the play to junior highs and high schools nation and world-wide.

Mental Health Support for our Youth
The Lost Girls brings awareness of the impact social media has on our mental health, emphasizing the importance of real life connections with each other and ourselves.

Creating Performing Arts with a Purpose
The Lost Girls is a book that is also a screenplay, written in the popular genre of "poetry slam." Each character is onstage alone, thought-streaming aloud. The audience journeys into their minds and hearts as they navigate through the perils of adolescence, the dangers of social media isolation, and the journey back to genuine connectivity with themselves and their friends.
Educating Teens on the Dangers of Social Media
Social media connects us, but it also isolates us.
The Lost Girls demonstrates how easily we can get caught up in social media without realizing how isolating and dangerous it can be to our mental health.

What We Are Fighting For

Our Goals
To replace the isolation and self-judgment created by social media with genuine intrapersonal and interpersonal connections that support our teens' mental health.

The Lost Girls was written not just for adolescent girls but for everyone who has experienced feelings of increased isolation and loneliness, depression and self-doubt, as a result of social media.
As much as the Internet has brought us, it has created an equal or larger amount of disfunction. Teaching our youth how to manage this resource in a way that will allow them to protect their mental health is crucial.
